I use these on the tops of the fences and the local cats will not walk on them.

That's a clever idea if it works. I wonder if its possible to put some kind of similar thing on your side of the garden so that if you've a neighbour you don't talk too you could put it on the fence (esp. if you own the fence) without complaint that their cat can no longer get out their garden into yours.

The problem with only putting it one your side of the fence is that cat's would probably still get in but won't be able to get back out.  You'll end up with more **** than before!

Montion-sensor water cannons are brilliant at deterring cats. They are expensive but worth every penny if you are beseiged by them and other methods are ineffective or aren't possible. They'll get blasted a couple of times and stay away from your garden for good. It's great fun watching them making a dash for it.

In my opinion, cats are the worst pests of all and their muck poses a serious threat to human health. Wouldn't hurt one but would do anything humane to keep them away.

I would never hurt one either, but if each and every one of them died peacefully in their sleep one night, I'd not be weeping into my coco pops.

LOL @ the latest responses here. So often when a displeasure towards cats is mentioned, cat lovers (usually irresponsible owners who let theirs run free 24/7) come out of the woodwork and say "my cat doesn't poo in ANYBOBY'S garden!" or "my cat would never mutilate or kill hundreds of creatures a year, purely for amusement", or "my cat doesn't spread toxoplasmosis or other higly dangerous micro-organisms in every neighbour's gardens!".

This usually leads to a furious exchange of words where cat owners get the upper-hand because anti-cat posts are deleted.

Cocoa pops and bubbly all around I say... cheers image!

and we dare not mention the millions of animals raised in near factory conditions to be killed, chopped up and put into tins of pet food.

I didn't know that anti-cat posts were deleted on this forum. Who deletes them MowTastic?

Every other forum seems to delete them so assumed the same would happen here.
