Fert Schedules

Would one recommend plant feeding with a balanced fert in Autumn/ Winter esp when transplanting or wait until Spring. I prefer using lood hoof and bone meal  for majority of veg and herb plants but use sparingly in Autumn.

No point in fertilising in the autumn - as Geoff says, nothing should be growing. Fertilising in the autumn might make plants put on soft growth which will be frosted, and with all the winter rain it will leach away anyway.
