Leaves and seed pods, the flower looks like a large strawberry flower.

Hello Mark, it's a Primula Auricula, it's a border auricula from a collection my mum bought as plug plants a few years ago.

Thanks for that Lisa, noted in my note bookimage

You've got some gorgeous plants there Lisa.I love your little (well big actually) Cowslips and your Irises are ahead of mine!!

Hi Mike, I do leave the auricula's out all winter. They were in a nursery bed after being split in September 2012, and I put them into a bed at the front that is sheltered by an evergreen oak about a month ago. We have sandy/loam here which is quite free draining, but I popped a handful of grit in the bottom of the planting holes just to make sure.

Thankyou Fishy, the cowslips were some self seeded plants that appeared in some plantpots at my mums and the iris are a dwarf variety, the big ones are in bud but not as far on as the dwarf.

Forester, you beat me to it, think it was me. I have something I put in a pot that was growing through from next door. Could be that, will keep an eye on it.

Lovely pics Lisa, very pretty flowers. Thank you for sharing.

I couldn't remember who it was Star Gaze Lily or I would have put a message up.  I wonder if your mystery plant will turn out to be the same as Lisa's.image

That's very pretty Star Gaze Lily, but is it the same as Lisa's as she said her flower was like a strawberry?  image
