    The only time I bought one with this blurb, it was a non-peat based one with no loam in it.

    Berghill, was it described as 'with added John Innes'?  As I understand it that just refers to the added fertiliser.

  • This year I have actually been testing the John Innes compost having never used it before until recently I have notice my plants actually producing more flowers and seedlings germinating better than using normal run of the mill compost. 

    I have noticed its very fine compost so it makes great for seeds and it has small brown clumps which expand into feed for the plants. I have purchased the compost from Wilkinson for about £2.50 for 60 liters.

    I have seen the ones in the 99p stores and I also believe that Dovefromabove is correct in saying it is just added fertilizer in that case
