New Border

Ok, so I have a 10 metre long x 1 metre wide border that runs along the left side of the garden, I would say it could be considered to be shaded for most of the day... There is a wooden fence at the back...

So I am looking for ever green bushes/plants that I can grow along this edge that will attract birds, bees and other winged things to my garden... I have put a bird table in the garden that has so far only attracted pigeons... I have tried putting a sign up saying "no pigeons", but they just seem to ignore it... image

Suggestions below please...

Heucheras will do well there - bees love the little flowers. I have a small shady border which has a mix of evergreens which are not strictly insect/bird attracters but I have Astilbes, Japanese Anemones, Cimcifuga and lots of early bulbs for that, with Heucheras, Gaultherias, Osmanthus, Lonicera, Pachsandra, Tiarella, Euonymous  and Vincas for the evergreen structure, with Ivy on the fence. I also have Ferns and Primulas in it. image
