Yes on looking again, I've s' stretched' the pic out (for some reason clicking on it isn't working at the mo) its nothing like a spirea!! Def looks like a cotoneaster.
..the white variegation on that conifer I think is natural for that type..can't remember what it's called, probably the one already mentioned but you see these sold in supermarkets as dwarf conifers...
..the 2nd photo I would say is Cotoneaster 'Coral Beauty'...

Conifer for the first and cotoneaster for the second.
I have to agree about the variegated conifers
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Wow thankyou all for your replies. I have taken some better photos for you. I will number them as in the original post.
Here is a close up of number 1, the conifer, Chamaecyparis lawsoniana Fleckellwood?
The next 2 photos are of number 2, the Cotoneaster...
and the last is of number 3, Helianthemum Ben Ledi?
I'm not sure about cotoneaster for 2. I don't think the leave arrangement is right.

The "varigated" conifer looks more like it has dying/frozen shoots to me!
So not a cotoneaster? Any other possibilities? Sorry for being a total noob!
hmmm thanks Sue that is interesting. If that is the case is there anything I could do to help it?
