Beetrot for a newbie

in Fruit & veg
Hi all , i've started having a go at growing my own stuff this year so i'm a newbie to all this but i feel the gardening bug within me grow as i see things starting to grow.
I don't have anywhere in the ground to put stuff so i'm using pots, i've just sown some beetroot seeds in a tray but would like to know how deep a pot i would need when i transfer them, i'm planning to harvest them when they are baby beet just in case this changes the answer.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks all
Warren.

Hi Waz, pretty deep I'd say. Minimum of an outstretched hand but suggest going as deep as possible. I grew some beetroot in a smithy tub and they were great. Suggest as wide a pot as possible as they need plenty of room to get fat, even baby sized ones.
Cheers Tootles, i take all that in to consideration when choosing a container to transfer them to.
