pond snails dying

I have common pond snails (Lymnaea) and Ramshorn snails in my pond for years but after this winter only the Ramshorn have survived. I know of 3 other people who have the same problem. Can anyone solve this for me please. Thanks Ken

That reminds me that I haven't seen any snails this year. Must have a poke around tomorrow

As of yet I have not seen any dead ones
I've heard reports that blackbirds will take them from the edges of ponds - any blackbird activity around there?
