Red Robin

Hi All.

Great to meet you all. This is my first post and hope that someone might come up with an answer.

I bought an 8 foot Red Robin plant last year which I planted in one corner of the garden. Everything was going well until I noticed it was slowly dying. It now looks sorry for itself with just a few leaves left on it. The soil is heavy clay and the area where it is in is very wet from all the rain we had and water just sits there after rain.

Could the plant have died from too much water or is it going through a process of being newly planted in the ground. Or is it dead or dying and if so how can I bring it back to life.

Should I dig it up and plant it in a more sunny and drier area of the Garden.

All help and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
