Can anyone identify this weed???

    Some people suggested geraniums on my thread nut, so really not sure. May keep it in pot to see what happens.

    I would definitely advise keeping this potted, just in case it is the same one! When the roots (inevitably) break they are kinda pinky-red. I'll try to remember to get some better pics of them as they are now.

    One thing I remember about bittersweet from weeding and stuffing it through the shredder when dry. It has a very odd musty smell, unlike anything else in my garden.  You have to injure it to get the smell

    Hope you're right nut, they look pretty. The leaves on the pic posted above look like the ones in my pot.

    Yes, Geranium endressii or Geranium x oxonianum. Bit of a thug in my garden!

    Not sure if it's the same as the first photos though - it doesn't have thin roots, it has thick red-brown woody rhizomes.

    lily, yours isn't G. endressii but could still be a geranium
