Dying Red Robin?

Hi,
We have a well established Red Robin which is about 12ft tall and is normally in excellent health until the wind dried it out this year.
We left it in the hope that it would be ok but sadly the leaves are dark red and totally dried out with no sign of any new growth.
Can anyone advise me as to what to do?
Should it be pruned or just cut right down - any advice will be gratefully accepted.

My red robin has lost most of its leaves. It still has new growth at the tips but is looking very bare lower down. Any ideas.
