If it was a friendly forum, then people wouldn't call each other names, talk about them in other threads, accuse them of being a salesperson or someone else (I still don't know whom), encourage others to hit ignore, post that they are hitting ignore, imageimageimage, ...the list goes on. I haven't done any of those things and if I come off as arrogant and dismissive, it probably has to do with how I was treated after my first posts that were relevant to a topic about gardening. If what happened to me after my first post was "English Manners"...I'll have none of it (also, the assumption that I am not also English is incorrect). I should probably be a lot more dismissive of the gang bullying going on.

Dove, I have to say though...you are the most pleasant of the gang bullies. I mean that in a nice way.

Thanks Alf! I'm still using the vinegar on my paving stones. Works great as I can't treat the soil under there. I'd like to think that there is still a glimmer of hope to rid my garden of these things. I had thousands, and now I'm at a point where I can go out there when it isn't raining and pull out a dozen or so. I consider that an improvement, but I still have more work to do. I just want to hurry up and get on to the gardening.

Dug up some small areas of the plot today that I vinegered about a week ago, and surprisingly even the roots are now showing good signs of weakening, so I feel if we all keep helping each other along, we will all win the weed war, like many of you guys and gals on here I too am impatient to get stuff growing, but I have resin end myself to the fact, this year weed, next year seed,

I'm sorry but this is getting absolutely ridiculous now, why can't you just let it drop and try to get on with us? Gang bullies?????  Never! Believe me I know what gang bullying is first hand and this forum contains none of it image

As for the assumption that you're not English, that's not an assumption, you have made several posts referring to the fact that you are from America, in fact only in one of the posts above do you refer to yourself being American, so therefore what other conclusion (not assumption) should we come to?

Anyway, wherever you are from your idea of bullying is far different to that in England.

One last thing, with regard to the name calling, I assume you are referring to my earlier reference using the word 'muppet', as others will verify I frequently use the word muppet but not necessarily in a derogatory way. I have even called myself a muppet at times.

As others have pointed out I think it may just be a culture / language barrier, yes I now we all speak 'English' but it is not always interpreted in the same manner.

That's all I'm saying on the matter now, I'm not apologising because I have done nothing to apologise for but it would make life a lot easier if normal peace and happiness on the forum could be resumed......as my 15 year old has just said 'arguing over a plant name - I thought gardeners were all meant to be happy' ...... My ignore plan has worked well.

There are people who will always need to have the last word  and are always right even when they're wrong. .

Ignore is the way to go, then the last word can be had but you don't see itimage

Oh yes indeed, between the paving slabs neat vinegar work well, but when I followed it 2 days later with a nice run of salt works wonders, all weeds between the slabs have gone, but I will not use salt out on the plot, as nothing will ever grow again,, than again to everyone on here who has posted ideas, info etc, gardeners team work pays off,
