Help, honeysuckle hanging off wall and bamboo
My neighbours yesterday decided to take out all of the wisteria (show's they aren't gardeners as it is about to flower...) anyway now the honeysuckle I've been nurturing back to health has fallen off my wall as it was climbing up through the wisteria.
What should I do to save it, it is falling over onto other plants. Have I now got to cut it right back Was only saying yesterday how well it was looking.
Instead of the wisteria they have now planted bamboo for screening. How do I stop it growing up through to our side. Is there something I can try and hammer into the ground on our side to stop it.
Nearly in tears when I saw my honeysuckle. gutted. best go eat some chocolate...

Oooh Peanuts! ((hugs)) - would a Hot Cross bun help - got some left from yesterday ....?
Would this be an idea do you think? http://www.gardenselect.co.uk/rootex.html I've never used it but it looks as if it would work.
As for the honeysuckle - what about training it up an obelisk or making a wigwam with canes and string wrapped around as I do for sweet peas? That way it's all yours and you're not sharing it with the NDNs
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I doubt you'll be able to hammer anything into the ground deep enough. Unless it's a particularly fast growing bamboo it will probably be years before it becomes a problem anyway.
The most effective barrier to its roots would be to put paving slabs on edge but that would require you to dig down 15 or 18 inches to put them in.
