What plant is this, plus pic this time!

I have this on my allotment, inherited from a previous tenant not sure what it is. Planted in what looks like a fruit area.

Looks a bit like a buddliea, but not quite right image

    I don't think it's a buddleia.

That bronze tint can be deceptive, a lot of young leaves do that

How big is the plant and does it look as though it's been planted or is it oddly placed like a self sown plant

Has it had blossom on it?

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • It's about 1 metre high, not very dense and there are some more which look like they are sprouting from canes that have been planted. No thorns or prickles or anything. Doesn't look like it's going to blossom.

It has the look of a willow of some sort, Salix caprea maybe. Could the canes have been used to mark out rows for veg?

Looks more like syringa common lilac to me.

  • Thanks for your suggestions, I will see what happens, maybe post a picture of the whole plant

Looks like a type of willow, goat willow?
