Lawn nutrients

I have three fertiliser types. Having seen the terrible damage excessive fertiliser can do to lawns years ago I am trying to figure out which option is best here. Today seems perfect for applying the fertiliser as it looks like we might get some light rain, it's quite overcast this morning. So, option A, apply the soluble fertiliser from the mosskill sachets, leaving out the iron sulphate sachet.
Option 2 use the soluble plant food using the dosage suggested for lawns
option 3 use the fertiliser in solid form and scatter onto the lawn.
I'm thinking the soluble would be better but I've moss kill brand states not to use the two sachets separately but I don't need the mosskill.
would the soluble plant food option be ok?
opinions welcome and thanks again for all your help guys

Where abouts are you Jesse? My farming brother told me this morning that the rain that was forecast yesterday for East Anglia this weekend is not now going to happen - if you are going to treat your grass make sure you've a back up for the watering - Hozelock do this sprinkler which is suitable and not expensive and even better, there's an offer on at the moment

You need to do it when it's going to rain ....... how reliable are your forecasters?

Best way of forecasting the weather in the next hour is to look at the sky
Ok I'll wait for a damp day, shouldn't be too long over here! Thanks guys.
I would really recommend looking at www.lawnsmith.co.uk. really good, no obligation advice and if you want to buy fertilizer products from them you can do that too...
That was helpful, thanks. Looks like I need a spreader maybe?
