pond surround

Hi! have just built a wildlife pond and am now attempting to surround it with stones and slabs of various shapes and sizes, so that they are hanging over the edge of the pond to hide the liner i know i need to secure them and have some cement but am unsure of the best way to proceed as my brain is telling me that cement wont bond to the liner or earth surrounding it..? Help!

It will bond just fine. Just don't try walking on the slabs until the cement has set nicely. We rebuilt our pond last autumn and I have been poncing around the edge, scared to death that the slabs will tip over and leave me floundering in tadpole soup. You are not alone in your fear of cement and pond liners.
