Azalea

Hi,

I'm very new to gardening so apologise if this is a silly question image!

I purchased an Azalea on Saturday and planted it in a container using a mix of ericaceous compost and seaweed fertilizer and topped up the last 1/3 of the container with multipurpose compost containg John inns.

I have returned from work today and noticed some of the leaves have turned a much lighter green compared with the other leaves.

Now I'm unsure wheather the lighter green leaves are new growth or the existing leaves which have turned lighter for whatever reason..?

Anyone know why and what might be causing this?

Could it just be the plant settling down after its transplant into new container?

Any help much appriciated.

Thanks

Ana

They look like new growth to me - new growth on azaleas is usually lighter - it will turn darker before too long.

Looks a lovely healthy plant image

  • Agree, new leaves... you are doing exactly the right thing with your regime. Don't forget to give it rain water. Occasional tap water won't harm it. If the leaves eventually go yellow give it some feed for azaleas.
