Will an old weeping willow regrow if it is drastically lopped?We have one that because a large branch broke off in high winds is now completely one sided and looks horrendous.It is about 40 years old.

coppice it right back and it will re grow .

Or pollard it
I have seen a willow tree cut down cut in sections and stacked and the logs on top start to throw out shoots so go ahead trim it and if you want another willow just stick one of the branches in the ground.
