I might be being thick but if you buy plugged veg from a garden centre which has more than 1 plant in each plug is it better to try to seperate them or plant as a whole plug .As my celery an celeriac as at least four plant per plug

Nothing stupid about the question at all.
I would plant as a single plug (unless they fall apart) and thin them later.
Agree with Alina split and plant as a single plug
I'd separate them prior to planting.

Definately seperate - or just kill the weaker seedling if necessary.
