Weed identification

image

The above has been in my garden for several years. I have always treated it as a weed but ....... it isn't an ugly plant and has a unique and not unpleasant strong scent.

I have looked on-line for a matching picture and, whilst there are one or two similar - none seem to match exactly. It produces pink / purple flowers during summer and spreads indiscriminately - however, it is very easy to pull up.

Any advice / information gratefully received!

It's Herb Robert. Geranium robertianum. Annual, easy to pull out.

I like them, I always allow a few to stay

I get those in my gravel driveway. Really like them as quite wide but really easy to pull out....looks like I've been weeding for hours... image

Thanks both - as you say, very easy to pull and not a major nuisance. I was just concerned that I had been consistently getting rid of something the previous owner had considered a plant!

I will follow your example, Nutcutlet, and let a few grow on.image
