Greenhouse
Have now got a greenhouse to grow plants in, what's the best way to set it out inside. I bought greenhouse staging with it. Know this shouldn't difficult, just need bit of confirmation of what I'm doing re plants etc. Have got lots of little plants, dianthus, fushia, trailing snapdragons, coreopsis and basket plants already potted up set out on the floor at the moment. Do these all need to be put on same shelf in greenhouse or can I grow things on different levels. Am successful growing plants in garden, but have usually bought larger plants in the past and planted straight out. Want to make the most/best use of my new venture. Thanks.

I always hang baskets in the greenhouse.
Hi Lindy56
I chose to have staging down one side for all of my pot plants and seeds, a potting bench at the far end, and then a bed down the other side so that I can grow cucumbers, tomatoes etc in the ground. I shift the potting bench under the staging when spring is over for a bit more room. I find this layout works for me as gives me the best of both worlds regards growing in pots and in the ground. It took me quite a bit of planning with the slabs, but I got there in the end. It's my second year with it and I LOVE it!!
Tootles that looks very smart and organised! I have still to get to grips with mine, but am enjoying it immensely - especially when it is breezy outside and you can just enjoy the sunshine!! Lindy, maybe it will take you and me a year to wake up to all the possibilities, but it is very exciting isn't it!!
Looks very much like my layout tootles, your GH doesn't half look grand
. i thought mine looked kind of tidy but i feel a bit
now . I prefer this kind of layout, like toottles said best of both worlds, my neigbour recently copy nearly the same layout after seeing how well my tomatoes was doing, They dont seem to dry out the same as they would in a pot.
thanks for the lovely comments. it was a bit of a bargain off ebay. for me, a greenhouse is so much more than somewhere to grow plants. I can't tell you the pleasure I get from just sitting in there with the radio, cat, newspaper, cup of tea etc. I do four hours of commuting (2 hrs each way) every day, and it's the thought of getting back to see what's growing and just peace and quiet that often keeps my going! Hope you find the right layout for you!
