wildflower area

we have 2 very small areas a metre square where grass gone as got wrecked by hosepipe and figleaves last year thinking of sowing wildflower mix would this work?

    Do you mean that they're bare patches ln the lawn?


    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.





  • If as dove says they are bare patches in the lawn then yes... But a lot of the wildflower seeds do need cold to germinate.... so you may be better off sourcing plugs....

    2bare patches in corners,may just be cold enough if I chuck on this weekend?got a blue pink mix know cowslips in it love them some grasses too

  • most wildflowers love  ground with  very little nutrients they are tough mind you  i see you said grass stopped growing in the area and normally  grass is very resilient  it has on occasions grown in my pond  in my tubs so just worried that something might be in the soil  but nothing ventured they say  im sure all will be fine
