Strawberry bed fouled?

Can anyone advise me with regard to my raised strawberry bed, it was established a couple of years ago with several different varieties of plants. Last summer it was watered with green pond water when Hubby tried to clean up our large pond, from then on the fruit tasted awful. Was this coincidence or are my plants old and need replacing, If so what would be a good choice for jam making?

Green pondwater will be good for the soil. It may have made the strawberries unpleasant if it was poured onto them but the long term effects are OK
