Begonia 'Fragrant Fountains'

I am both a new member and recruit to gardening.  I started off 20 begonia corms in shallow trays a couple of weeks ago.  All but one are sprouting new, healthy looking shoots. I intend to use them outside in baskets and containers. Can I transfer the plants directly into the baskets and containers directly from the trays once weather permits?  Or should I transfer the plants into pots for while prior to transferring into baskets and containers?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Dave. I also used corms and bare root begonias last year on wall mounted baskets and planted them straight out but that was not untill the end of April. I had a great show from them in late summer. Blousy and beautiful on an ugly garage wall. In other words, I would suggest people keeping corms in the tray then out at the end of April. You can just see the leaves growing at each side of the baskets in this early pic. How did you fare in the end Dave?

As the OP was in April 14, I think Davelads long gone.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
