I don't let my peace lillies get too dry.  I put water in the tray under the pot and go back a little later to check that they have taken it all up.  If there is any left I pour it away.  I started off with one plant but now have lots because they are so easy to split up.  If you tip one out of its pot you can see all the separate little plants and can gently tease them apart.

  • Another progress report from me - after the good watering the other day mine still looks more perky than it used to and there's no sign of the leaves yellowing.  The original advice I was given about caring for it was obviously wrong, so I'm very glad i put the query on here and got all these nice helpful replies.  Thanks everybody - next step is to wait for it to flower........fingers crossed!

Should I feed it with Growmore or something to try to promote flowering?

I've been fostering a colleague's office Peace Lily while she's been on long term sick leave - I rescued it after I found it in her office looking poorly with yellowing leaves.  I cut off all the yellow leaves, scraped off the compost from the top of the pot and added some fresh, gave it a good watering with some Baby Bio in the water (dosage as per bottle), cleaned the leaves with some leaf wipes and continued to monitor it.  As my colleague was away her office blinds had been closed so I made a point of opening them in the morning and closing them at night so that the lily had sufficient indirect light.  I was rewarded last week when said colleague returned to work to find her Peace Lily with the first bloom it's had for ages image

  • I've got Baby Bio - I'll try that then!

    Thanks,
