Added growmore at the thinning out stage. The lettuces were sown in a propagator that came as a kit complete with compost etc. The radish were sown in a tray then thinned out.
Discard and sterilize all equipment, ideally with jeyes fluid and start again, but without the growmore - not needed at that stage of development. Also, a propagator is not need, a sunny windowsill will do fine. Lettuce, I start off in cells/pots in a bag - removing bag when germination is successful. Radish, in-situ under cloches at this time of year, a couple of seeds every couple of weeks until summer.
I have been thinking about this-it may be case of over feeding-there is plenty of food in the compost to keep the plants going for 6 weeks- and you are using a potting compost which is rich anyway with added growmore-far too much for seedlings.
It seems to have thrown up some odd growths-this is just my theory-not to be taken as fact
Thanks for your help everyone, Suttons have E mailed me, they are going to have a look at the pictures to see if they can identify the problem. Overfeeding may be the reason, I'm a novice at growing veg (except tomatoes and beans) so maybe I was too kind!

I have never seen anything like it before.
