Separate neighbours lawn ideas

Hi,
I plan to separate my small front lawn from my neighbours by introducing a border and some controllable plants/bushes.
I like Lonicera Nitida. But would welcome any alternative suggestions.
Partial shade, clay soil.

Are you looking to grow a hedge? Or possibly erecting a trellis fence with climbers?
How tall would you like this partition to be - are there any restrictions on fencing where you live?

No fences allowed on the development, so I am thinking about a border with plants and shaping the lawn around the trees (as the top pic example).
My garden is the right hand portion (second pic).
