Bumble bees in my house - what to do?
Hi, so far in the past 2 weeks, we've had 7 very large bumble bees in our house on the window sills. I can't find where they are coming from but assume the attic. Although we are not phased by them at all and calmly put them outside enjoying the start of Spring, my son waking up to one on his head in bed one morning wasn't the best!
I have read up about giving them a 50/50 sugar /water solution for energy; but why are they in my house? How do I try to find a nest? What do I do about it?
I assumed the first bee had been hibernating over winter, but now 7 in and I'm wondering if we do have a nest.
Thanks in advance for any support!

If they're big ones they are queens waking from hibernation. Just put them outside preferably near a source of nectar.
If you had a nest inside there would be lots of little ones, but bumble bees like to nest in old mouse nests and other nice holes outside.
You need Busy Bee 2 to collect them for her hive
I don't think my son would be impressed at one on his forehead either but hopefully the problem will resolve itself soon with no more worries.
Hi Jen we get big Queens every day on our white painted stucko ( there when we bought the house not me) and in the half done kitchen which has big windows they love it, i gave them some honey to give em a boost after waking up ,i put some in a jar top outside then a bit on my finger and then transfer them to the top outside works like a dream and i get a kick having them so close ,one day we had 3 side by side warming up, good luck ,im off to find mi sun goggles
Alan, that sounds lovely - Sunny here too this morning
