Can anyone tell me the name of this tree. It has silvery leaves and yellow blossoms with a pineapple fragrance. Unfortunately I think this tree is quite old and a mainh branch has no leaves on it this spring. Can anyone help?

What you described sounds like Cytisus battandieri, - the pineapple broom - but that usually flowers in summer.
