Thank you Steve. They'll be coming out once I've salvaged the seeds. i don't know how long ago they were planted so away they go

They'll be last year's.  Probably still edible. (which may be a better use of them than saving the seeds!)

at least you have things growing! With work commitments and this dreaded weather I've still planted nothing, and I'm at a loss at what we can sow if we ever get it sorted. One things for certain the weeds will be loving all of this. I'm feeling ever so overwhelmed by it at the moment!

Maybe you could just do part of it and cover the rest with opaque membrane or thick cardboard, or sow green manure if poss.  Not too late to sow french beans, courgettes, leeks and even (someone told me this morning) plant spuds.

SweetPea it's only by sheer luck I think that stuff is growing. The randomness of it is mental. It's gonna look very weird when I've cleared the weeds, just to be left with stuff growing in random spots lol.

Steve I'm going to glyphosphate half of it tomorrow while it's not raining (for a change!). and then I'm going to make a start on hand clearing at the other end so that I can start seeing progress!

The site manager told me I can still get potatoes in. I've got some chitted waiting to go in, and I had to cheat a bit and buy plug plants of other stuff, just so I can get it productive. Next year it'll all be done from scratch

The weather forecast for this weekend is rubbish so if I dont get there tomorrow I won't get there until time unknown

My local GC told me they get special spuds in during July for Christmas so you could definitely get them in Sweetpea x
