hi
we have just built a covered outdoor cooking area which has left a shady patch of garden just the side of it could anyone recommend any plant that would be best suited there .
thanks
Some herbs and veg will grow in the shade, depending how much shade. That would be ideal next to a cooking area.
its very shaded a glimmer of sunshine in the morning. thanks
I've had flat leaved parsley do well in shade.
How big is this patch of shade?
its about 4sq meters i think
Perfect for a Fatsia japonica http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/howtogrow/3295666/How-to-grow-Fatsia-japonica.html an exotic and tropical looking shrub (just right to set the scene for outdoor eating) which is perfectly happy growing in almost total shade.
thanks have looked at link . Going to get one

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
