Cut flowers at end of May
Here's a puzzle for you all: My friend needs to create some lovely cut flower arrangements for a special event at her church on 31st May. Not the easiest time of year for flowers to be in bloom! What would you suggest as an easy flower to grow (from seed or plug) that might be fairly reliably in bloom at the end of May?
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Alliums. Aquilegias. Queen Annes lace or Anthriscus.
Its too late to start anything from seed to flower by the end of May this year.
Thanks everyone! Will pass those suggestions on. Any others?
There are a whole host of shrubs which flower may/june, has your friend thought of using some of those?
Which do you have in mind, Dave? Sounds like a good idea...
I think lilac might be in bloom.
Many fo the roses will start flowering at that time, callistemon, some euonymous, lilacs, hydrangea, philadelphus, hebe, carpenteria, some rhododendron's, viburnam opulus, lavenders, rosemary, euonymous, weigela, some cornus, I could go on, but I would be here for some time. There are quite a few shrubs which have very nice foliage as well. Some may be hard to find, but it's a thought.
Thanks Dave, that's great advice!
Have passed all those suggestions on to my friend, thank you everyone!
