"I think much more should be done for us, how about Coronation Street allotments, East Enders veg patch. Big Brothers cutting garden, Simon Cowell up to his elbows in muck.Get me out of here, a jungle garden special."
You mean Arthur Fowler doesn't have an allotment anymore???
The F1 gets the TV coverage it does because of the sponsorship - companies pay vast amounts of money to get their logos on TV - consequently huge events can be staged, paid for by the sponsors, and it costs the TV companies relatively little to film and commentate about it.
If gardening shows were sponsored by the likes of Martini, Vodafone and the like they'd be on our TVs 7 days a week
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I've never understood the interest in car racing. It would make sense I suppose if all drivers drove exactly the same car, then you could see who was the most skilled driver but it isn't about that. I can't see that it's about selling cars either. How many people could afford one and in any case, they'd still be stuck in the same traffic jam anyway. The highlights which I assume would be one car overtaking another would probably take less than ten minutes. Extra coverage could be given in the event of an accident to satisfy the ghouls.

Thank you Obelixx, you are much more eloquent than I, and I agree with your sentiments.

Thanks. I have no great hopes for the Allotment Challenge but the rest sound good, especially the Chris Beardshaw series.
Had searched out this thread to add the link that Salino has already supplied. Can't wait for 4 hour long episodes on Great Dixter and the like .....
And i will definitely be watching Chelsea this year too ...
I was criticised when I moaned that GW was taken off air for sport.
