Hi I know when to prune apples & pears but not sure about plum trees

In the summer. Not in the winter. Apparently summer pruning prevents disease.
June is the best time to prune plums...the fact is that leaving open cuts when the trees are not in full growth leaves them open to a disease called 'silver leaf'.
