Stratification of Seeds

  • I've been weed-killering the sea holly that is prolific in my Languedoc garden - I hadn't realised that it needed cold, and it certainly didn't get too much of that last winter.  As soon as the sun comes out after rain it pops up everywhere and has long tap roots that make it hard to eradicate.

I always try things both ways for trees and most seem to germinate quickly if sown immediately after they fall.

You can't beat fresh seed gg. Lots of those said to need a chill will germinate in days if they just drop to the ground.
