Moving magnolia

I live in Brittany and the fosse septique police have said we have to move a 5 year old magnolia. Can someone please advise the best time and method of moving. Thanks.

I think Wadie is referring to regulations and inspections around Septic tanks in order to ensure that they work efficiently and don't cause environmental pollution  http://www.brittany-internet.com/BrittanyNews/SepticTanks/tabid/174/Default.aspx  - no need to be obstructive or to prevaricate and certainly no need to panic - according to the info in the link above you'll have four years to sort things out.

Can you show us a photo of the magnolia so we get an idea of it's size etc - to post a picture click on the green tree icon on the toolbar above where you type your post, and follow the instructions.

  • Where your septique is concerned it's best not to argue with the guys from the authority and why would you want to? Just move the magnolia when it's dormant - it may work and it may not. If you delay, as suggested, it is less likely to work. And would you rather have the septique not working?
