Talkback: How to water your plants

  • I have a soak-away hose around my garden and it is attached to a timer so it can be used during a hosepipe ban. Tomatoes should be planted in a bottomless pot , which encourages the water seeking roots to grow downwards. Fit a rain-saver to all gutter down pipes to collect rainwater.
  • I am fortunate in that the down pipe in my front garden serves to houses and I have arranged to put all this water into my garden

I have 2 tomato plants in greenhouse in pots using a watering system ,I wondered if I have them placed too close together as the leaves at the bottom of plants seem to be getting reddish markings on them also do I need to feed them even though they only have flowers on yet, none of the  flowers have set yet.I have heating on in my greenhouse. The plants are touching each other.
