standard

hi all , I have a beautiful standard lavender bush given to me by my daughter for my 50h birthday . It has a lot of dead parts in the centre but now the ends are starting to sprout . Should I trim it back ? Any suggestions be very grateful really don't want to lose it

Lavender should be trimmed after flowering - if you cut it back now you'll lose the flowers.  When it's flowered cut it back - but not into old wood.

    Sounds a lovely thing image

No, don't cut into old wood with a lavender - sure to kill it!  Just a gentle trim after flowering.

Mine is the same Helen, i am cutting the dead bits right out, whats to lose, it looks horrible anyway.  Hopefully the new green shoots will fill in the gaps, if not its for the bin,
