Strawberry hydroponics

Evening all,

I am intrigued at the thought of having a go at DIY hydroponics for growing strawberries. I have seen a couple of Youtube clips (American) mainly using soil pipe at an angle, pump etc.

 I have found very little in the way of advice on Google - would appreciate the wisdom from any of you that may have tried?!
