    I use a slow release general fertiliser like Miracle-gro in my pots of box around this time of year while I'm top dressing them as it lasts for 6 months and you don't have to remember the monthly liquid feeding bit - perhaps I'm just lazy!

    Thanks Lizzie.  I have resigned myself to getting some fish, blood and bone cos everyone is raving about it!!!  (Even though the smell has me reaching for a bucket.)  But I will have a look at what is available in the shed in the way of plant food - may have some Miracle Gro somewhere.  It is hard to get round things with feeding, especially when you have a job.  I now work from home and am a much better gardener, cos I can punctuate what I do with little missions outside.
