what on earth is this chive smelling plant, we have found it on the lawn??

 Keep coming across this chive smelling lawn weed, it appears to be chive but is it something else????

    It looks like an onion. has it got a bulb at the base?

    It will be an onion of some sort, chives and lots of alliums seed very freely

    Just mow them, they will soon give up.

    Ah ok thank you image they wasn't there last year so I was a bit surprised to start seeing them growing
