Hornbeam Hedge

    That would be plenty Martin. Hornbeam can be kept quite tight and narrow [like Beech] so you wouldn't harm the hedge in any way by keeping the side nearest the fence clipped back quite hard, and the inside face a little longer and fuller.
    My favourite hedge.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
