Cobea - how long do they take to germinate?
in Plants
Hello experts, I am hoping you can help me yet again. I sowed a packet each of purple and white Cobea on 23rd Feb in my unheated greenhouse, into cell trays and covered with lids. This was according to the packet instructions. To date - absolutely nothing has come up! Yet other seeds sown around that time are all up and making good progress. Do Cobea just take ages to get going?? Any insights gratefully received! The seeds were brand new, from Sarah Raven.

I've just googled it and it says " germination can take 3 weeks to a month"

Wow! Thanks so much Hostafan! I have just read it and I'm heartened that it may yet come to life. Brilliant, thanks for taking the time to do that
Hello Order, looking at my notes for last year only two out of four seedlings germinated. The first appeared after 4 days and the second after 13 days. These were in a heated propagator on a sunny window sill so I don't think 21 days is anything to worry about if they are in an unheated green house.
