plant storage

Can I store my potted bay shrubs (3 f -  40cms, 50cms & 1,5m), my 2 blueberries also in pots, 1 potted hibiscus) in a large household sized container for 3/4 weeks without damaging or killing them? We are moving house and have to store for a short time. We can't get to them to water them and they'll be in the dark.

I wouldn't risk it. If the container is in a sunny place they will cook. Warmish and they will shoot and you will have elongated pale shoots because of the lack of light. If it was January i would say Yes, but I think at this time of year it won't work because everything is starting to grow.

When I moved , the people I was buying off let me move some plants ahead of time. Also when we bought next door, the old neighbours left things like big potted plants until they had moved from their temporary rented place to their new house. Allit needs is a bit of cooperation. Failing that, have you a friend who could put them up against a house wall and keep an eye on them.?

Can you not store them outside or get a neighbour to look after them for a while. Excluding light will be the enemy, not storing them in another container. You will stress them if not, but they should survive.

Is there not a family member / friend who has space to let you store them for a few weeks until you're moved in?
