Thanks for your kind words Wintersong. I too love Lilylou's garden. The maturity of the plants make such a difference to a garden I think, but of course that comes with time and patience doesn't it. I tend to buy baby or small plants, especially when it comes to shurbs, because of cost, and will just have to wait for them to get to the size I want or need, for their particular space. I also like that fact that she doesn't have a square inch of bare soil. It makes my garden look and feel, gappy.
I don't own a cat, but next door's cat is often in my garden.
I've often heard about catmint (Nepeta) and thought I'd give it a try. Last weekend I planted two small plants in a tub (the plants are still alive; just)...

Just thought you may be interested to see this 1562 Elizebeth 1 coin I dug up in my garden last year.
Not easy to photograph, as it's only about the size of a current 5p.
Thats fab David. My house is dated 1590. I might now be encouraged to do some more digging!

Ah! Well mine was built in 1948....I'm almost sure the said coin came from a quarry in Nottinghamshire in the 1960s.
PS, sorry, I should have explained that it came via a load of gravel from a quarry in Nottinghamshire.
Oh, I see David, very funny
Maybe I'll get onto that quarry instead.

What a brilliant piece of history!
Maybe Robin Hood dropped it!
