Hi guys, I'm looking to plant some herbs indoors but I needed some help on deciding on herbs which are nice to chew or eat on their own. Preferably they would be good for health and maybe good for fresh breath, etc. Any ideas? Thanks.
I was considering parsley but I read about the herb and people said it doesn't really help with freshening breath or at least effects do not last that long. Is peppermint or spearmint good?
Also I forgot to add in my original post that I would like a herb which can boost energy is there such a herb that exists?
Thanks Phillipa I appreciate your help I'll do more research into those herbs especially think more about basil. No unfortunately I have no space to plant them outside.
You could put a plastic trough on an outside window sill, but be sure to have wire going around it attached to eyelets in the wall each side so that it does not fall on anyone. The easiest way then is to simply place pots of herbs in there, either grown from seed or bought from a Plant Nursery or supermarket. With these, you will need to pot them on to bigger pots with the addition of further potting compost.
Parsley is great to freshen the breath after eating garlic. You could easily grow mint, and make mint tea or just munch on a leaf. There are very many different kinds of mint, from pineapple mint to spearmint. Good luck with it

Parsley is what you chew for fresh breath. Its easy to grow in a pot in the winter inside, and then at this time of year, in a pot outside.
I agree - Parsley

Yes - philippa's right - basil's really the only one that would be happy indoors long term.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Would you know any herb good for energy boosting?
You can grow ginger indoors - it's good for digestion and circulation apparently.
Members of the onion family are also good for circulation so chives might be an idea. Not sure how many you'd need to eat to make a difference
