I live in Yorkshire and cut my grass a couple of weeks ago.. don't know if I was meant to but it was starting to do my head in and it seemed to cope with it fine, I did have my mower on a high setting though

If the ground isn't too squelchy and boggy I don't see why not.  A high setting as liseals says, so that it doesn't get scalped.  I'll have to leave mine a while - it's very soggy so I'd do too much damage if I walked on it. It'll keep till another day image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

here in Devon with 8 acres not touched in months: I'll wait until "lambing" is over then invite to local farmer to send the woolies round for a few weeks to feast to their little woollen hearts' content.

    Devon.

Cut the lawn whenever it needs it. I cut mine last weekend and the wife questioned it. I showed her the bag full of clippings. I set the mower on the highest setting and we have had a mild winter, so mow away.

Hostafan, that sounds lovely image That might have to go on the envy thread image

OH is hoping to cut ours this weekend, but needs his lawnmower back from service and it not to rain until Sunday as the lawn is still quite wet! but growing too long!!

i also want it to dry out as I need to walk on it to plant bulbs!!

  • OOh, Tracey, I saw reference to a new thread in your music one, but somehow couldn't find. Was it a garden envy one?

If not, why not, 'cos I'm so jealous of Hostafan. If I had that, I'd have my own lamb! Ooops, sorry, lambs, for you vegetarians!

Really need to take the tufts off my lawn, but it is the mower I have to wait for. So tempereramental. It's petrol, and has to stand outside on a sunny day for a couple hrs before it will start, even though it's shed is warm and dry. No amount of servicing has helped. May have to strim it.

FairyGirl, I'm with you. Very wet, but mine drains quite quickly. Think I'll be out with the fork making holes first.
