So right Posh as an engineer I love all those big smoking lumps of metal the Victorians were good at, Isambard Kingdom Brunel is a hero to me. I suppose we still have many things they made so a few of their ailments can be expected.
A wee tot before I limp off to bed will kill the pain.
As my mother would say, "stop yer whinging, go chop some sticks that will cure it" and that was for everything from double pneumonia to having a leg off.

The weather box that comes up next to the threads for your area is nearly right, it says cloudy, well it is apart from the blue sky above me? The sun is not quite making it as yet although brightening by the minute.
Lazy day, Daughter doing my shopping whilst I rest flipping foot, as long as she does not spend all my money, still payday tomorrow.

  • Nr LINCOLN _ I thought it was a bit back-endish this morning, but the sun as got out and it's now a lovely morning, lets hope it stays that way. We had a torrential downpour yesterday evening so things look a little battered.

Hope your foot is soon better Frank, I understand it is very painful.image

  • Halifax, West Yorkshire.  Overcast, dull and a bit damp. Feels very much like an autumn damp day!!! image

Cheered myself up though, my Thompson & Morgan plugs arrived so I have spent a pleasant morning in the shed. image

Correct Lovetogarden, very painful indeed, that is what you get for indulging I am old enough to know better.
Stockton got some sunshine which made me happy until Daughter gave me the bill for shopping, that made me forget gout.

"Yikes" how did that happen a double quote" must have been the shock of the shopping bill, well there was £16 for fish.
I am getting the rod out and sitting on the banks of the Tees, it has a Salmon run now but with my luck I would catch Lamprey.

Not been too bad here in WManchester today. Ok there was a short, sharp shower first thing this morning, but has stayed almost dry since. A few spits & spots just now sent me scurrying from greenhouse to get the washing inside, but nothing much.

Seeds all pricked out, well those that needed it. Wormery fed & the new plants that came home with me on Tuesday are planted out. Not a bad day except a parcel didnt get delivered image  was 'in', but down the garden! J.

  • Strange day here,  no sun at all just a grey day,  did manage to get the front and back grass but had to keep dodging the rain spots which were quite heavy at times at one point I thought it was hailing but I think they were just massive rain spots.

  • it has been scorching today.. i got sun burnt in the garden again..  have got all 2 loads of washing dry and far too hot in greenhouse to pot up things that need it right now..

waiting for the rain.. were supposed to have had some otehr afternoon.. but nothing.. hopefully tomorrow so it can fill my water butts up again as 2 are now empty..  the lawn also needs some of it to get its green look back.. yesterday at Osbourne House.. and it was very hot there.. but did apply sun cream so didnt get burnt..

In the box at the side of the page it says Stockton on Tees light rain?
It is daylight and it is raining although if that is light rain I do not want to see a deluge.
Whatever we are getting is set in for the day as the sky looks like an old Ladies skirts hanging on a washing line.
Off to see the grand children for lunch that makes my day what ever the weather does.
