Was damp first thing, not too cold. Now wet but trying to brighten up, possibly? Wind increasing too. J.

Coming back passing waterlogged fields through the Wynyard, the golden orb of the sun suddenly blinded me, it is sinking into the west as I type, wonders never cease.

    Frank.

  • Wet and windy, but not that cold in Rossendale.
  • Rain, rain and more rain, the garden now looks like a bog-garden and my umbrella has gone into hiding! If the temperatures drop in the new year and this continues we'll have a pretty white January!
  • Sounds like those winds they promised us are starting blow.

The rain has actually stopped here after chucking it down all night. Large puddles visible on compacted bits of a border- dont ever remember seeing that happen ever before in 29yrs here! J.

  • Sunny(ish) day in Marlow, so up the allotment to move a load of the free wood chippings to make the paths less mucky. Picked some sprouts, Savoy cabbage, leeks and a swede, so that's dinner half sorted! The River Thames in Marlow has gone over both banks and there is a fair bit of flooding - the river itself is an absolute maelstrom, and I guess the flooding will get worse in the next few days.

Hope most of you out there are not suffering too much, and hopefully things are improving in some of the worst affected areas.
