Manure or not to manure!

we have a free supply of manure on our allotment site, it has been sitting there since autumn of last year. This weekend I was going to dig some into the ground where I am planting my first earlies. Do you think it will be okay, or should I have dug this in last autumn?

Assuming it is now well rotted, it will be fine for potatoes.

If it`s fresh manure stack it somewhere to age until this coming autumn.
